For all you Transplanted Texans who love Rhubarb but have no luck at all growing it since moving to Texas.
Plant Victoria Rhubarb Seed in potting soil in Late August or Early September.  Some protection for the young seedlings may be needed for winter freezes. Along about February 15 to March the First transplant the young rhubarb seedlings into rich fertile garden soil.  About Irish Potato Planting Time get the Rhubarb plants growing in the garden
By the First to Mid May you are able to start pulling nice fat Rhubarb stalks from then until it gets so hot it dies from the Texas summer heat.
It called growing Rhubarb as a Annual  in Texas.
Order fresh new seed and start over again every year like you do Tomato and Pepper Plants

Ken used to drive up to see me and get his rhubarb fix but got smart and now grows his own.  He grows really big onions, by the way.

Old gal says rhubarb and Brussels sprouts are good for a guys prostate. I don't care how good it is, I can't get that stuff past my teeth.

I like a good rhubarb pie. Brussel sprouts and asparagus is good eating too if grilled in a pan with a little olive oil and seasoning.

“Old gal says rhubarb and Brussels sprouts are good for a guys prostate.”

I heard that, too.   All I can say is....well—-it just doesn’t fit there.
