Wondering what some of you guys are paying to get a tooth filled? It cost me $420.00 for 1 filling today. Yep she did an x-ray too. There are 3 other dentist in town, one isn't taking new patients. I might try the other 1. I thought this ad quite high priced.

Just cleanings here are close to $150, add xrays and that goes up from there. Simple extract $125, get complicated or tooth breaks apart can go to $300 EACH. Fillings are as high and crowns can go upward of $500.

I just got a cleaning, xrays and two fillings, total was $125.  And I thought that was bad.  What chafes me are the prices that are paid by uninsured vs. insured.  Same with medical insurance. Uninsured pay two to three times more that what are paid by insurance.

Got checked for Hip pain that could not be determined over a long period as would come and go. Without actually opening the area they determined I have ripped My Sacrum Iliac joint, small piece of cartilage where the pelvic bone(hip paddle or Iliac) meets the Tailbone or Sacrum. To fix that will take drilled holes and cemented in place set of pins. Estimate to Insurer $35,000, my percentage close to $6,000. Insurance will not pay so a re-estimated straight from the patient cost of $12800 TOTAL. They will get the bottom line no matter WHO pays and how much discounting goes on as the initial estimates are enlarged enough to cover those costs.

Needless to say I live with it.

Went into a Aspen Dental last spring - free exam- x-rays- and estimate
well it seems my Medicare Advantage would pay for x rays and cleaning and exam if I gave them the numbers but as just a estimate didn't need them -
Said for $10,000 which i could finance through them - as soon as i signed forms they would start work ---
Ah figured I would wait a few days -
Went to another dentist - said needed 1 filling $240 - but said should have special cleaning $1200 ..
Need to do some more checking

last time I had a tooth pulled it was $600. that was with insurance! about 20 sum years ago I gots them all pulled and have some great store bought teeth. best thing I ever did. no more tooth aches, no more drilling and prying and scraping and no more sensitive teeth. only thing I hate is all the years I smoked, the nicotine must have soaked in to the plastic, when I wear them, all I want is a smoke! I go without them a lot, mostly for that reason and it is more comfy without them! now ya'll know...i'm that tall fat toothless skinny bald dude at the end of the counter!

We all fail to consider professional expenses as to Doc's these days. New materials, new appliances for doing the work, liability insurance, business license, staff expenses and disposal of waste materials unlike the old days.
