Guys these nasty critters are thick out here. Better look close. Past 3 days I've found a dozen of them crawling on me. I've been cleaning up several messes of old wood the past 3 days.

My niece in Illinois worked for a landscaper four years ago and had more than just a few ticks to pick off herself.  Contracted Lymes disease. Doctors say from the deer tick bites. She actually isn't completely over it yet after 4 years of doctoring.  Bad stuff.

All the winter moisture we had is going to lead to lots of fleas and ticks. Flea bites on your pups and cats will lead to worms. Advantage II or Seresto for the cats and Advantix or Seresto for the dogs.

GUYS, HEAR THIS!! Ken is exactly correct. Bad stuff. I had Lyme disease for at least 10 years and the stupid doctor wouldn't treat me for it, and me being stupid didn't get another doc. Then I contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted tick fever and that stuff will kill you. Fortunate for me my regular doc. was out of town so I got his assistant and after a trip to the hospital for ex-rays and a few other tests he agreed with me and prescribed some pills that worked well for the spotted tick fever. However I was still having trouble with the Lyme disease to the tune of a weakened heart, kidney disease, thyroid disease. Could no longer work to amount to anything so I just retired. Dang. Anyway I was able to get another doc. that listened to me and he put me on a long duration pill called Doxycycline for at least 6 months or more. Can't remember for sure, but at least that long. Did the trick, but I still have the effects to this day. There may be another pill now, but it's the only one that will work as far as I know. Ken, tell your friend not to drag her feet about this cause it can be a long slow death. And if the doc. hesitates at all, get another doc. If any of you have any questions feel free to message me and I'll help where I can.    Leon

Doggone memory. Here's another pill they gave me at the same time. Called called Clarithromycin. Hope this helps.  Leon
