Having to go and have one of our dogs put down. He has been sick for a few weeks, been to the vet many times, spent 2 days in the hospital. We brought him home to be with us and live the last few days with us. He is 7 years old, and went into kidney failure. We have been treating him here at home, but with no cure possible! It is time for we don't want him to suffer.

Such a sad time as we say goodbye to our faithful companions. Stop and get him a good cheeseburger if he'd like one. It's a hard thing to say goodbye. Sending my sympathies to you and the family.

We have two over 13, both show their age where the elder is over 15. I know and dread that day coming when we can no longer help them except to cross into the next life.

dang,,Dave,,, but i feel for you in the biggest way,,,,!! Our 10 year old female Yorkie has developed the dog version of human ACL injury on her two back legs and while she can walk some,,,she can no longer jump up on the sofa where she used to sleep. Three veternatians later and a fistful of dollars,,,we are told surgery might possibly repair her legs but cost would be prohibitive. Doc suggested making her a bed on the floor close to our bed and make her as comfortable as we can. My son took her to a Vet in Mexico and he gave her some meds that Vet says will help her . It sure is heartbreaking to see her no longer run around like she used to.. I imagine you are heartbroken as well with your friend and partner and we will keep yours in our prayers,,,,,,

Dave, so sorry for the loss of one of the family. Nothing pulls at the heart strings as a loved pet.

Sorry Dave, that's rough. And only 7, that's not good. Been there, 7 year old dog as well, and it's hard. Enjoy the memories, and know you helped him everyway possible.

Sorry to hear about your pet. The worst part of being a pet owner is knowing when you have to make that choice, but I have always felt that we own it to the pet to not let them suffer.

Dave, sorry to hear of the loss of your companion and family member. It is hard to let one go even though it is best for them. They depend on us to know when to time comes and help them to cross over but it is never easy.

The sad thing about this all, is our other 2 dogs have spent all day looking for their buddy. They just don't understand where he is. And THANKS to all for the time and kind words during this sad but needed time. Dave and Beth
