I already have one Project WF that is pretty good condition. I heard of a couple rough WF's a few hours away from me. Both are pretty rough. What would you say such WF's might be worth in the current market? I'm interested in buying them but do not want to get in over my head over paying in the current market, yet be fair to the seller. One could make one out of the two, or two WF's using a donor WC. All the unique WF parts are there. Please don't say $50, not a valid answer. The owner used to lurk on this forum, and made a suggestion of such a post to feel the current market. |

You said you heard of them . Is owner wanting to sell them or did you contact him about buying them . This is where what he feels what they are worth is different than what others feel they are worth . $600. ???? for the pair. I'd pass on them unless they were free and I could figure out how to load them without destroying whats left of my back. 1 'nonrunner'...maybe, but 2 would be a nightmare to move. Guess I'm getting old but I did turn down a 3-for-free deal few years back,all WFs or WCs..I'd have to find the pictures to see. From your description they are very,very rough that means $,$ , MORE $$$ to get even one 'up and running'. We all know there's NO money in restoring/reselling tractors in 'factory fresh' condition. Parts are around but labour is not cheap, unless you don't value YOUR time. You could dump the better part of 6-10K into one tractor and I doubt it'd sell for that. As for the 'market', sadly there's fewer guys around looking for tractors and most probably want to turn wrenches not buy one 'all done up'. But heck, if you have the space, lots of cash, tons of time, no other commitments, offer 20 cents a pound( that's 2X scrap up here). ------------- 3 D-14s,A-C forklift, B-112 Kubota BX23S lil' TOOT( The Other Orange Tractor) Never burn your bridges, unless you can walk on water |

I wouldn't worry about the motors they'd be easy and cheap to find if you decided to fix them.Worth a good deal if you find someone looking for WF unique parts for their restoration project.

Maybe that will lead to a package deal or he might say yes to your offer or he will say no. I agree with those who say don't get in too far after all you already have one you have done nothing with it sounds like. |

Updated: I now managed to make the photos work and show up of the subject tractors. To answer some questions. a) The fellow contacted me in response to a Want ad I had looking for WC or WF parts/tractors while working on my own 38 WF. b) He paid $2400 for them a decade or two back. He did acknowledge that was too much to me. c) I do have the capability and most the parts to make two tractors out of them. d) WF's in my area are not real common as compared to say out west in Saskatchewan.

Well, the way they sit in such sad shape, the poor buggers look pretty weathered. Because they are WF's, I would say $500-$600 for the pair would be fair assumption just looking at the pictures... I'm still lookin' for a solid set of rear fenders for my styled WF. The key word being "solid". Yikes, 2400 ! Man I didn't pay that for 3 running D-14s but to each theier own.... the pictures do tell the tale though...nonrunners, sat there for 10-15 years. At least an 'easy' winch onto the trailer. well ,'easy' is a relative term... providing you can get a lot of air int the tires.At 24, the guy will probably want 1000-1500 to not feel too bad BUT I see a heckuva lot of HARD work involved in getting them 'up and running' , let alone into profitable salable condition. BTW the spoke rimmed one is same as the 3 I passed up years ago. I member cause I liked the spoked rims. Can anyone chime in on what they'd be worth at least in running conditin? Agree on the hard work, but I'm not looking at it to fix up and sell. Its my own personal hobby projects for my collection.

This is going to be a tough sale. The seller is in way too deep. Ultimately, it's not about price, but how much $$$ the seller is willing to lose. If you really want them, present your best offer but be prepared to walk away empty handed. If I were in your position, I'd only be interested in the unstyled WF. Good luck!

Ya know the guy must have lost interest by the way he just let them go to pot. He may be looking to just unload them and cut his losses for whatever he can get.
