You might be able to get an academic scholarship.

Congrats to Unit 3's daughter.  That is a nice accomplishment.  My twins both made NHS and one of them was NHS president her senior year.  Does indeed make ya proud.

As for scholarships, NHS makes a nice "filler" on the application, but you best have an outstanding ACT / SAT score as your basis for a scholarship.Smile

Congrates you have every reason to be proud. My granddaughter made the list last year and I'm proud as all get out of her. Grandson didn't make it though, great grades but more absorbed in a girlfriend. Yep a special dinner is in order.

Yes, congratulations to you and your daughter.  Everyone should feel good about this!  Your daughter for accomplishing this and her parents for bringing her up right.

Thank you all. Yes it does make ones chest swell up with pride. Life should take her far away to do great things and think great thoughts. As for me, I think I'll keep living in my grandpa and grandma's house and till the same soil that they did.

I would assume most National Honor Society students do pretty well on most ACT and SAT tests which yes decide who gets what scholarship. Parents income , race and what achievements you can put on your application all count . My sister was a NHS student ,scored 31 on her ACT and my dad did not make much at the time . She graduated 1994 from the University of Illinois and never paid a dime for tuition . She had to pay for room and board het last 2 years.
Friends of my family put 3 boys through the same college. Oldest and youngest slid through and barely made it .Middle kid was NHS student, good grades graduated with honors . Their mother told me oldest was over100,000 , youngest was 120,000 and the middle kid was about 35,000 so really good grades help . Each of us are in a diffrrent situation but any money scholarships kick in make a difference
