I was messing with my 1964  190 AC the other day and the parking brake latch is giving me a fit ; when you flip it back and step on the brake for it to release , it wont release , it just gets tighter, if you flip it back + forth a few times it may work and may not ; it seemed to have some play on the shaft , so I shimmed it , didnt help, its really aggrivating , anyone have this happen ?

We had a similar thing happen to our One-Ninety.  Turned out that one of the hydraulic lines was interfering with the linkage.  We replaced that line with a new one that had a ninety degree fitting (or something like that, IIRC) and it corrected the problem.  Look up under the hood at the back and see if anything is in the way of the lock mechanism.  Hope this helps!

If the latch is in wrong it will act that way.

Is the roll pin that holds the lever on the shaft broke?

Lube/oil the rectangular block that fits on the shaft....they get dry and sticky.
