Say there buddy; on your prime rib recipe, you said that you used SPG rub (or something like that anyhow). What the heck is that...…? Darrel

yep...I mix salt, pepper, and garlic (equal amounts) (don't use garlic salt)in some semi melted butter, mix it all up good and rub it into the meat on all sides pressing it in. don't get to heavy on it, persons our age don't need a lot of salt! lol

Persons of ANY age don't need that stuff!!! BUT,,,,,,,, the salt draws out the juices (when cookin) and letting the roast stand after cooking, allows the juices to 'draw' back into the meat....DANG that's GOOD!!!

we use "no salt" for salt here. it's really potassium, but it tastes like salt. used it for years in cooking, most of my local friends that come to eat can't have regular salt so we went with this. no one can tell the difference. there is enough salt in all the normal foods we eat, don't need to ad to it. the old lady....oooops….I mean the loving wife picked up 2 beef roasts yesterday, I mixed up some SPG and butter, rubbed it all over one of the roasts and put it in a vacuum bag and put in the freezer, did the other roast in the insta pot, I did add a little ah-jus and a little liquid smoke in with the water. it was really good and tender, and didn't take long to cook up. was 2-1/2 pounds, put it in for 37 minutes. came out perfect!
