DMiller,
Why the V  cut on the downed log in the one picture with your saw setting by the cut?

So I could get a 24" bar through it without pinch. Used that technique a lot in my younger days, kick a small wedge out to allow deeper cut and less tree to bring back out of when have less ability to get at the underside. Nice square edge to set steel wedges to.

Same conditions in Michigan. Freezing rain for Monday and Tuesday with 8 inches of blowing snow and 19 degrees in Michigan. I hate not being able to do any serious work on any of the equipment due to cold and wind.

Bobcat needs seals replaced on control valve. Need decent weather as you have to work without gloves.
Oliver needs all fluids changed and that is best done when a little nicer out.
HD16 Im itching to power wash and steam everything off to get started working on some priming and painting but too damn cold.

Froze tight last night so dragged batteries down and old Allis busted right off, a nice warm up and off to the back easy on solid ground. Got the bigger junk out of the way just as the Greasy started to set in, tried to drag out the log but too slick just got it out of the way and went to setting fence repairs. Managed to get all patched back in and trundled back to the barn put everything away for the storm coming Fri-Sun. 3-6" snow predicted.
