My wifes grandfathers.  Didn't know it existed until a couple days ago.  Her Aunt and Uncle were visiting and her Uncle seen all my old tractors and told me to come get this one or it's going to the scrapper.

Oh, well, another one for the fleet.

Nice. Looks pretty complete. Already converted to 12 volt if you were going to go that route. Any idea how long it has been sitting ?hopefully carb and manifold are ok.

Engine turns, but he did say the rear brakes are locked up.

So there's that..

That’s good engine is free. Just started doing brakes on a ca which has more stuff to take off than a B. Not to bad but one drum Was broke so gotta remove one axle side. Was a pain to clean where brake and drums are removed about 2 metric tons of nuts a chipmunk was hiding in there. Good luck keep us updated. Ray

Thanks for the manuals.  I think I have the B service manual somewhere, but this will be handy.

Doubt its a military.  Her Grandpa was to have bought it new, but then the timeline is a little off.  Her Uncle thought that he was around 10 when Grandpa bought it, but he would have only been 6 in '44.

And, when 10, a 4 year old tractor from a dealer may have looked new enough.  LOL.

You are a lucky man to get your grandpa's tractor. Restore it and pass it on to the next generation. That has got the correct rear wheels for a adjustable front end.

That's good.  I was a little concerned that water could get down into the manifold and cylinders, but they must have had it covered.

As for brakes, They may loosen up when you start moving it around.  Sounds like the beginning of a fun project.

Nice Allis B there! It looks like a later than '44 model, I think the adjustable wide front and 5-bolt rear axles were not an option until the late 40's or early 50's. Someone one else will know for sure. The later ones are more collectable. Good luck with your new project!

I have passed one in the trees for 50 years. Maybe someday I will stop and look. Yours looks pretty good and someone played with it in the last 30 years and converted it to alt.
I would drag something like that home too. My son wants a B for some reason.

My first tractor was my daughter-in-laws grandpa's tractor. Bought it to keep in the family. Do your best to save it. You won't regret it. I think the little wide fronts are neat tractors. That's why I have 2 I guess.

Yep, that serial # indeed puts it in 1944.  Likely had some stuff added over the years.

For saving another of my favorites.  Remember, they don't make them anymore.
Keep us updated with your progress.
You may want to check the valve cover, the oil pan, and other items of the wartime  B.
Looks like the air cleaner extension is gone and the fenders are original.
As said above things could have been changed out.  I remember how we were glad to junk the steel wheels and replace them with rubber, or take out the starter plug and put in a starter.

Update.  Wife's Uncle called just now.  He tried to move it with his pickup and whatever he hooked the chain to broke, LOL.

Anyway, I will get in the spring, after the thaw.  It ain't going anywhere.

More after I get it home in "April" (?)...

That last picture shows the part her uncle broke trying to pull it out when the tires were frozen in.  I'm not sure you can break that, but there it is.  I think it might have been cracked before or a defect....  1" diameter is tough to break by pulling long ways.. Just sayin,,,

Looks to be a little hydraulic line and maybe a cylinder in the back of tractor.  Forgot to take a closeup of that.  More to come..

Looks like you really scored on that plow. Only thing missing appears to be the coulter. Most of the ones I see are missing the parts that attach it to the tractor...

Was able to get a look at the engine number.  It looks to be a match to the serial number, which is always a good thing.  Both engine and tractor are from 1944, yeah....

My guess would be gas, but that would be a little early in the assembly one would  think...
