I have a Gleaner K with the 4-post header attachment, and I'm looking at buying a 330 corn head with the Quick Attach hooks on top. Does anyone have any advice on where or how to get the kit that includes the bar to mount on top of the feeder house so that I can hook it up? Is there somewhere that makes them new(ish)? Should I try to get one off of a parts machine? Do I try to find the dimensions and have someone weld one up for me? Thanks in advance! |

Your Gleaner K must be one of that series earlier (1969-76 ) models? I’d go to a salvage yard near you (Bryant Combines - Bryant, IN) and take one off a newer model K or K2. Here’s their web link. I'm sharing a couple of photos. The first was taken from an October 1970, Gleaner K sales brochure. I'm guessing the Gleaner K models began offering the "hooks/pipe" type header hookup on their 1971 year models?? You will need to locate a donor combine's "pipe & mountings" to bolt onto the top of your older K's feeder house, plus a set of "header hooks" to bolt onto your older K's 4 pin platform. The second photo displays why there's two vertical pipes attached to first photo's feeder house's header pipe. They were offered for those farmers whose barn/shed doors did not offer taller clearances for a combine cab. OR, it further allowed lower heights for dealer trucking delivery or custom harvesters transporting. The vertical pipes where also mounted onto the cab's front corner post. The cab had forward hinges. So these two vertical pipes stabilized the cab when it was tilted forward thus allowing the combine an overall lower height. You might check to see if your older K has such cab hinges.   |
