Our house cat had a flying squirrel trapped in our spare bathroom.  We heard a commotion like the cat was chasing something at 5 AM just down the hall. Cat was studying the crack under the closed door. We opened the door to find a Flying Squirrel hiding behind the toilet bowl.
Went out to the truck and grabbed the trout landing net and caught the little bugger. He is now in a bluebird house in a sugar glider cage we just happened to have.  Thinking about keeping it for a pet if I can find another one or two to keep it company.
The mystery still is . How did it get into the house and why? I know we have them living in the attic.

if you have them in the attic, the next thing you will have in the attic is snakes. as far as how he got in, well they can squeeze through some might small holes, cracks crevasses

Flying squirrels or pine squirrels? We have pine squirrels. Get into everything you have and are a total nuisance. My neighbors and I give them lead poisoning ever chance we get! Get them out of your attic.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Any squirrel can fly, if you do the prep work!

Ken, it's your squirrel, do what you want. Fried, baked, boiled, nuked, or put it your shirt pocket and keep it warm.

I really don't know if it's a He or a She.   These little Flying Squirrels full grown are tiny little things with big eyes and they are light as a feather.  Two kinds live in the US.  Northern and Southern.  The Southern kind has white belly fur and are about half the size of those from the North.
A friend kept six or so in his saw shop. They would crawl all over everybody coming in the door looking for  treats in their pockets.
