I am considering a AC air champ planter (don't know and specific model number for the planter units) and was wondering how easy it is to find seed plates for it. As far as I could tell, the plates are about 10 inches in diameter and plastic (dark green maybe?). Any place these can be readily found?

I checked them out already, but from what I see on their website, it looks like they produce plates that fit in the bottom of a seed hopper like you find on a JD 71 planter. The unit that I am looking at (AC "air champ") has the plate mounted vertically underneath the hopper and uses a fan to hold the seed in place.

I have several decent ones. I no longer use the planters, use the deutz Allis planter now. Saving the planters to make a copy of the Allis no-till drill they show in one of Norm's books. Looks like a planter frame with a All Crop drill on top of it.

I thought the seed disc were a the same as used on newer DA planters? Becarfull in buying used discs if worn thin then can be a problem.

DA air plates are thinner at the hub but if you cut the part off that extends out from the gussets on the back side (side away from seed pockets) the older plates will work fine!
