Does anybody know much about the 3600 series Massey tractors.

I am referring to the mid-2000s utility tractor, not the 1990s bigger tractors.

Are they reliable and decent units? Looking for something in the 60-80 hp range with 4wd, cab, and loader.

The units were the same as John Deere units- Carraro built - they were great as a MANUAL SHUTTLE - I cannot say the same about the power shuttle... (read stay away if the unit has ANY history of failure in this area) MF used a hyd PTO where Deere used a manual PTO. The 3600 MF has the SISU Agco engine - a great engine. Deere of course used their engine. We found them a tad light - but if weighted worked ok.

Thank you TBran. It appears that the manual shuttle is not a popular option as all of the used ones for sale have the power shuttle.

What is your opinion on the 4600 series? It looks like they only build them a couple years before they went to the 4700 series that are built in China.

I had rather have a 4700 - same engine - 4700 much heavier - better power steering. Having said that we now have some units with over 2000 hours that once the updates were done as in all new tractor lines, and have been relatively trouble free. The 4600's had a really great hydraulic system for loader work - they do need rear weight to handle big round bales comfortably.
