I found this 516 Cubic Inch motor near where I live, It's on a generater. Just wondering what It will fit into on ALLIS tractors and how much HP It should produce. Any other Info you want to give I,ll take on this motor.

Darrell - I think the 516 was only used in N7 Gleaner combines.  I don't believe it was used in any ag tractors, not sure about construction equipment.  I think the 744? went in tractors like the 8550 and 4W-305.  Mike

Darrell, That is an 11000 series engine that was used in dozers etc. I think it was also used in the Gleaner N7. I have lots of info at the house that I can post later. My local generator dealer also has a 100 kw 1ph generator for sale with that engine.

The 516 was in one series of combines, was never put in ag tractors. have heard of it being put in tractors for pulling purposes. Would have to do some fabrication to put it in. Jerry in KS. has several of them 516's he has taken out of combines. Hope this helps.

I had a 516 out of an N-7 and put it in my N-6. I think they had around 300 HP. I loved that motor, if they would have put it in the 7580's there might not be near as many Cummins out there.I'd love to run that 220 if you put it in.

A year ago they were asking $6000 for the complete unit with about 900 hours showing.

the 516 was used in hd11 crawlers, and 745 loaders. those used roosa fuel systems. the N7 version got a bosch P pump and 275 hp. I too thought that would have been a better choice for larger tractors, but it is still one of the old buda designed engines, though ac re-designed to direct injection in the 60's. the 8550 used a 731, which is a de-stroked version of the old buda 844, or 16000. I have seen talk on here or on the few the proud the orange about putting a 516 in a tractor, so it's been done. good luck.

when you live on the east coast of Canada I don,t think anything comes easy, I live almost as far from AC central as you do JPG. I,m a rare breed when It comes to AC In this neck of the woods. After finding the only 220 around I can only hope to get'er running some day soon.  426's don't pop every day In this part of the world, we have a lot of older and smaller AC's but not the big rigs. Thanks everyone for the answers and I will give It a shot if i can purchase the 516 before anyone else gets to It.
