Anything interesting going on there this coming weekend? While we are in Great Bend, might as well spend a few bucks for more gas and check out this tourist destination on Sunday.

During tourist season they have a shoot out on main street every day, Boot Hill is smaller than you'd expect but you gotta go see it to say you been there.  The main problem with Dodge City is there are feedlots galore there and you start smelling the ammonia  about 30 minutes before you hit town.  It's still worth stopping to see.

Thanks guys, I grew up carrying bushel baskets of shelled corn on my shoulder to 150-200 head of cattle in the feed lot. Smell probably won't bother me too much. Old gal wants to ride around on her scooter, wondering if the sidewalks/streets are ok for that. I see a museum listed that is supposed to be good. Hoping the tourist season is almost over. I see a casino up and operating, maybe I can swing by Ol Shameless place and gets an interest free loan from all that cash he picked up the other day???

Garden City, just east of Dodge has a drive through zoo which is kind of interesting.  Also, Greensburg has the worlds largest hand dug well, also the town was nearly wiped off the map by a tornado several years ago, the town has been rebuilt to modern standards.  Oh and don't forget to stop by Schmidt & Sons near Mt. Hope, one of the biggest AGCO dealers around.

Front street has always been one of my favorite places . Stop at the crazy house in garden city and get yourself some new boots and a hat.

Has it changed much since I was there in 1977?  Garden city back then had a HUGE community pool....kinda nasty from memory Hahaha  But I remember Boot Hill.  Didn't appreciate it much at the time, but Dad wanted to stop.

Last I heard they have cleaned up the surrounding areas of front street. It was getting dirty and dangerous from the cartel types from the slaughter houses.
As a kid I saw a guy water ski on the Garden City pool.
If y’all think them feedlots stink wait til ya catch one of those dog food factories on the right day.

Headed for Dodge, I hope Mis Kitty and some of her gals are hanging around. I would hate to drive 10 hours and get skunked looking around.

Been to Dodge a few times in my life, mostly passing thru, not a place I would claim as home.

I got hung on Boot Hill when I was a little kid.
Ran across a parking lot and did not see a wire.
