Got out the HF generator and ran it for a few minutes today, noticed gas dripping form the fuel cutoff so I tried to tighten the bowl and it just crumbles in my hand. Talk about thin pot metal! Other brands may not be any better but the cutoff on this one is pure junk. Ordered two replacements today so I will have a spare just in case.

Don't know if it was in jest or not but I read the Chinese vocabulary doesn't have a word for quality.

on the other hand, I have a 13 HP HF generator... sets in the garage for 12 months... put  1/2 gallon of gas in the tank, choke, pull the cord and starts on ONE PULL.... run for 15 minutes, drain the tank, and wait 12 more months... My lawn mower with a 24 HP BRIGGS wont do that !

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

They make very good air rifles too but they don't take the extra split second to blow the machining chips out of them which kills the seals the first time they are used. Makes no sense but it's how they operate.

Well,,,you know,,,my frugal ways been goin back some years so I been buyin some Harbor Freight stuff for many years and some has been pure junk and some was marginal but adequate,,, Buy the tools knowin it was just for one job but less than 1/4 price of name brand so,,,,
In the last 3-4 years there has been a noticeable uptick in quality in most of their stuff . The tolerances are now dang near as close or better than name brand tools,,,and still less than 1/2 price,,,just kind of hard to argue with that. I also notice they now use more metal than plastic which helps the longivity and quality.

yep...ole cheap Joe and me loves that HF. they are carrying lots of the same stuff as our local farm stores and wally worlds. I gits my trailer tires from there, can gits a tire already mounted on a wheel for a cheaper price than just a tire else where that still has to be mounted! most of the tires have lasted 6-7 years before needing replacing. then I don't hafta paint the rims either! I did use the portable air compressor I gots at HF about 10 years ago or more, had a flat tire on my pickup at the camp ground, aired it up and gots to town with it to be fixed. that air compressor always goes with us, stays in the toolbox of the truck. one of them direst drive Campbell Hasfeldt, with about a 2 gallon tank. all the tie down straps from HF have been good too. lots of things there i'll buy if needed! i'm as cheap as ole JOE and LES and others on here!

I don't think Briggs is any gold standard for quality anymore, I got a crapped out weedwhacker and a pushmower can attest to that :(

I like my HF stuff, didn't know they did tires tho'
