Is anybody else having problems with them little bitty flyin gnats,,,????? Sometimes i get just a few in the kitchen mostly but other times looks like a swarm of gnats,,, The Wife eats a lot of fruit so there are always some nectarines, pears or bananas on the table but i never leave any that is spoiling or close to it,,,???
I use that Home Defense a lot outside the house on everything and also around both doors to keep the creepy crawlers out. Anybody use other sprays on them dang pests,,??

We get them nasty fruit flies up here when summer comes. They're like mice a pita to get rid of. At first sighting we put out a few 1/2 pint wide mouth mason jars with the inside walls coated with veg oil and a little apple cider vinegar or tail ends of a beer in the bottom. The vinegar or beer attracts em and the oil traps em.

Believe it or not, little buggers usually come home WITH the fruits and veggies and makes you wonder how many we ingest.
I use Windex on em', one shot and toast when seen around the house.
They get heavier the more fruits/veggies brought home over the summer and when the non-refrigerated stuff like regular or sweet potatoes are used up, takes about five days for them to disappear. Bring home more and see em' the next day.
Any peels, cores, etc. I have to throw out into the pasture away from the house as can't put in garbage as it keeps em' around.
A good shot of RAID Ant and Roach killer into the kitchen garbage can at night seems to help considerably.
I'm ready for cooler weather myself, but we need the pastures to stay green longer as not much for hay this year.

Your NM gnats are not to be confused with "East Texas Dog Pecker Gnats". Remember those Joe?

We have them and they came in when I picked a couple pears and brought them in the house. Vinegar with a drop of honey has worked for us.

another way to capture them is to put a piece of banana in a small glass jar.  cover the lid with saran wrap, and take a toothpick and poke some holes in it.   the darn things will be able to crawl down through but not get back out.  Has worked well for me.

More than likely, just reached under the sink for any cleaner that was handy to try it.
Huh, he ain't movin anymore moment, kept a spray bottle on the counter top all summer after that.
I'm sure other stuff would have a similar effect but ammonia in a decent glass cleaner is cheap and stops em' instantly.

I didn't know that something as simple as windex could make a man so happy. Who needs money as long as you have gnats and windex…? And if the little sum beaches land on the window and you shoot em there, well then you can double your pleasure and clean the window, too! Kind of like killing two birds (or gnats) with one stone! That Tim should have patented this idea, and he wouldn't have to work any more. Darrel

Yeah,,Darrel,,, I sure do thank ole Tim for puttin me on to that trick,,,,I do not like to spray any kind of pesticide inside the house as the wife is very allergic to the smell,,,,and,,,and,,she can smell them from two rooms away,,,!!!
She keeps askin me what I'm usin so much ammonia for and I gotta keep comin up with new answers else she might make me stop my little game,,,,,Clap

Mix two tablespoons of ammonia OR white vinegar with two quarts or warm water. Mix one-half cup ammonia, one pint of 70 percent rubbing alcohol and one teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent. Add enough water to make one gallon liquid. Mix one tablespoon liquid dishwashing detergent with one quart water.

You could adjust for different amounts of ammonia and alcohol maybe to where it just enough to drop em and kill em.
