Howdy guys, as our upstate New York hay season winds down I am changing all hydraulic and transmission oils. Do you believe the $38 buckets of hy-trans wet brake oil is better for the hydraulic compartment than the straight hydraulic oil and is a higher quality oil or not? I'd love to hear y'all's opinions. We did around 12,000 43 lb kicker bales of high quality mixed grass horse hay with 20 some more acres to go but the rains have come and the daily drying time windows have all but closed. However The flying times have never been busier in 20 some years . Thanks! Dana

The oil those tractors were factory filled with was AC 821 oil. Since then it has evolved into 821XL...... AGCO PermaTran......Deere HyGard.......CaseIH HyTran......and on and on and on.  This oil was used in the transmission AND the hydraulic system.
