Ok. So I'm assuming there is no pit in them like a chokecherry where the aronia is a berry?

I got several bushes out in the yard, but I don't think they are aronia Berry's. Grand son planted them. They make good bird food. I'm also wondering what they taste like.

Everything is different in different places so I don't know at your place, but here all kind of rules. But Oh Shameless could probably get away breaking all of them,an still not be in trouble. But you just put a sign out the end of your driveway, not much in the way of rules. As long as you grow it on the place.
An to keep the cheap folks from just window shopping, put "All Natural" on the sign as that is no regulated like "organic" and a twice the normal price. But maybe there ant no " Foodies " in Iowa and just the cheap folk .Then I guess you just gotta give them to Jay an Joe .

don't take to Omaha's farmer market, the city charges big money for a booth. I don't think there are charges anywhere else for space to sell them, Ray has a good idea, try selling them from your place! i'm sitting here eating some with ice cream right now! I should finish my harvest tomorrow. I didn't wear gloves so you know what my hands look like! LOL the old lady....oooops….I mean the loving wife picked raspberries tonight, they are on the light side too. Les...what does that contract say with that ya-woo over there? that you can only sell to him? but don't he hafta buy from you too? I always thought he was a shyster!

Hey Shameless and Les; Some guy from Omaha, Ne. has an Aronia picker for sale on Craigslist @ $30,000. Does 1 side of the bushes at a time. Looks like person has to ride on rear of it and fill containers. Are they ripe when the turn Black? Have neighbor that put in a couple acres of some kind of berry bushes 5 years ago, about 4 - 5' tall now. Nobody picks any last 2 years and none this year, were bright red now most look black. Guy from town mows between the rows n weed-eats up close.

The "Health benefit" of the Aronia Berries has been known for some time, although not very well publicised,,which is some confusing to me as I would think the FDA would push for more distribution just mainly for the high content of the polyphenols in the berries. When ole Les and Shameless first started talkin bout em,,I did some readin up on them and they are one of the highest polyphenol containing foods you can eat.
I would think it be to ole Les's advantage to get an ad in the local paper to sell em at a roadside stand at his house,,,or maybe con a young enterprising young person to man the stand (ryhms too) on a percentage basis.,,,,??

LES!!!! You should get the nurse to start making Aronia Jam!! She'd be done by Feb or March next year,,,,,,,that would keep her off the couch for a while! AND then you could SELL them next year at Hutch when you get there!! Heck,,,,,,,,,I'd take a half dozen myself!! GOOD STUFF!!

Joe you be carefull how much you bragging up of the healthfulness of Les's berries.
My "favarite niehgbor" Mrs Stewy Resnick got started bragging her pomegranate juice would cure all your ills. Even though they be billionares the Food and Drug people had a little talk with her and her Wonderful Company. If you google around you find her crowing that she won the case cause the Court finally gave up on having to approve her addvertizing before it could be used. But now they just hint at how good you will feel. Even though hubby be a blood sucking lawyer I got a hunch legal bill was more than O'l Les has got or could even beg and barrow.
Being hillbilly redneck you got to learn what buzz words mean things, like that other blood sucker that got hung up with IS(are favorite Bill).Things like "Organic" is a very regulated term, Natural ant.
Anybody know how to kick the spell check so it always works ?Mine works part time.So I am sorrry for things like this.
An I did get myself worked up over the billion dollar outfit that does owns around me,if you would steer clear of Wonderful nuts and juices,Justin wine, and Fiji water it would make me smile.

well between the never ending breakdown of equipment amd the state people fer pulling my organic certification for using 3 tablespoons of a product that says organic right on the label but it ain't, I've lost me will to do anything with those berries.
Heil, I never got paid fer last years crop, or the year before that I don't think. It might be the healthiest thing on the planet, but if'n it don't keep the lights on, it aint worth much.

I agree with Ted, maybe a bunch of ya'll should file suit against him for non payment! i'm sure a lot of the berries he has stored where ever (frozen storage) has eaten up any profits or payments to his growers. but that's not the growers fault! shucks...ya'll might become owners of a farm with that fancy club house and steel building on it! he still hasn't responded to my e-mail yet!

Shameless I thought you better knew how this country works. The kind of action you are proposing is just part of the full employment act of blood suckers put together by blood suckers are us.
Dirty rotten politicians all seem to only make laws that help snakes slip under the rock so they can come back another day.

To participate at a farmers market, you show up with your product and $5.00 entry fee. Bring a table, chair, and big ol floppy hat or some type of shun shade.

Omaha NE's farmers market charges $585.00 (plus $40.00 for each electric outlet if needed) for the season, for a 10x10 ft booth. and if you aren't on location by a certain time, your booth is rented out to someone else. and you can't have your vehicle close to you. and there's 4 pages of rules and regs you hafta follow. best to just stay outta Omaha, and go to the smaller towns. most of them don't charge a vendors fee, you sell out of your vehicle ina parking lot.

Sounds like the Omaha'ins visited Calify to find out how to do it.
Part of the rules here would be good if your growing for that market in they make sure you grew it and are not buying it wholesale and reselling it.
