Well I’ve been puttering around with my 66 allcrop everything spins fairly freely, except the grain elevator to the bin. I peeled what’s left of the bottom elevator door open and found the elevator full of compost. I tried to dig it out and am not sure how much I got out or how much is still in the elevator. It looks like at least some of the cups are gone or severely rotted/rusted away. I’m wondering the easiest way to R&R the elevator cups & chain. Wether to remove the top axle and let it drop thru to the bottom or try to remove it from the top

I have chain and cups if you need them. I would remove from the top.

No remove from the bottom, connect the new chain to the old one and install the new one as you spin the old one out. Connect the chain at the bottom.

I see merit in both Lon and Chris's method. Which one I would choose depends on the situation. Is all the trash out? If not, I'd be poking a running garden hose down the top trying to get it cleaned out. Are the chain links free or rusted together? If they are free, I'd try doing as Chris says. If they are rusted together, I'd try pulling it out the top as Lon says.

do as Chris says, cuz if the chain slips from your fingers, you know what you'll be trying to dig out then!

Further details, the elevator is cleared out, the top chain gear is loose and will move within the amount of the slack in the chain. Trying PB Blaster on the bottom bearing/gears trying to make things moveable

I'd heat it up if it was me. I've done that on stubborn stuck parts when dismantling parts machines, and it works great.

Out the bottom would work great if you tie rope to the top and cut the chain. Takes a rope on each end and tie it off. If you don't, I guarantee you it will fall and you will wonder where your head was. LOL

There’s a kink in the lower bearing sheet metal bearing panel. Is it possible to either remove that panel or r&r the clean grain elevator without disassembling most of the combine. It appears that there are 2 sets of bolts & clamps holding it in place and the mechanics of the feed to the grain elevator.
Also I need some of the clean out doors is there somewhere they might be available from

Disconnect chain at bottom, go to top and pull chain up. New chain, drop in both sides from top. MACK

A development on the grain elevator on my 66 all crop combine, started to R&R the lower cog/gear shaft and found the rear brass bearing seized to the cog/gear shaft. Removing the 3 bolts holding the bearing housing to the elevator and A bit of heat and a bit of judicious persuasion with a hammer & punch got the bearing housing removed.
The rest of the elevator seems to be free and movable
