“Shameless “ that is but I suspect y’all already knew that. My morning job was start remodeling a hallway. I went to pull up the carpet and it was staples down both sides with 1/4” crown staples and no tack strip. Thank God none of the other carpet has been this way. If Jenn’s new front door was a little wider I’d of rode my Atv in the house and pulled up the carpet with it. Then I try to pull up the pad and it’s stapeled down with a 3” pattern going both ways. I then got on my hands and knees with a hand full of assorted tools and started pulling staples. I don’t know what this sub floor is made of but it would be easier to teach common sense to a college professor than pull these staples. Then I try to carefully sweep up my mess and my helper “Festus Hagen” droops his ball right in the trash pile kicking up a major dust storm that WILL get on Jenn’s new furniture in her newly remodeled living room. I threw the ball and started sweeping the mess up again and he attacked the broom scattering chit everywhere. I know dogs love Shameless and I believe he corrupted mine. I know he’s laughing his ars off at me pulling all them staples. |

She has to work this week end so I had big plans I was gonna ride my motor sickle. NOPE today I’m gonna prep the hallway and lay down some hardibacker then start taping and missing all the drywall I finished hanging last night after work. Then I thought well maybe tomorrow but nope she says to take my momma out to lunch after church. If I had known Shameless was gonna make my job this hard I’d of just told him to keep that dang Jeep. That was a low blow, him turnin ole Festus again me. |

I installed carpet way back when I got out of the Navy - seems more a driver as old guys were talking about how dry one gets in the carpet business and seems drivers licensed were hard to keep after quenching their thirst . Stapled most carpet down back then - tackles strips were extra cost so most people went with stapled down - same with padding staple hammer and pound away staple down seam and about 3 or 4 more across width and about 1ft apart on length . Now latest carpet I had put down was padding taped together - not one staple used ------------- Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel. |
