Had a question about an allis h6 in a sale close to me. since I have and h4 I figured the h6 was a newer model so I went on the net and I saw all these allis listed and realized the h6 and up were older than the h4. surprised me as I thought the larger the number the newer it would be. maybe if I live to 90 I might learn 50 percent of nothing.

Numbers just denote the weight of the machine relative to size .
A HD7 can be a old machines in its character with a 3-71 Detroit or a newer machine
A HD6 can be early or late model with several updates along the way .
Some machines like say the H4 can be gas or diesel or updated 653 or other such but are industrial machines / not construction machines / made for utility companies and farmers rather than highway and heavy use.

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.
