Here's a pic of the finished project. I had the fever last night to see this thing finished, and I was just about to put the last hood decal on around midnight, I had it all lined up and ready to stick it on...and the power went off! (no lie). It was only off a few seconds, but I can't count the number of scenarios that went through my head in that amount of time!

| The front rims are one piece. To get them painted like that, you need to put the first color on then mask it off with tape or paper and paint the second color. It's usually easier to paint the rim orang first then spray the silver. There has always been some debate with the "correct police" about whether or not the rims on Wd & WD45's came painted 2 colors. I know the D-Series did as my D-14 had silver as the last layer of paint on the out ring of the front rim. I prefer them painted 2 colors. I think it matches the rears. Either way, a beautiful paint job puts the finishing touch on a great restoration. |

I haven't heard much debate about rim color. None were painted silver on any WD,45,B,C or CA. The front wheels were painted Orange, and the back rims were galvanized with the wheel centers Orange. The WF's had a front rim separate of the wheel center and the rims were galvanized with the wheel center Orange. I think you do what you like. I have alternators on 2 tractors because I want to work them and had the alternators on hand. Call me frugal, not correct. I also like the look of a little detail in black on these oldies. Like starters and gennys. I prefer the silver trimmed front wheels, because I think it accents the rears, but I've restored AC's for gentleman who specified that the fronts be solid orange as they were from the factory. I do like to stay as close to original as possible, but there are lots of little detailing items that can be done to enhance the looks, of what I already feel, were the best looking farm tractors ever produced, no matter what series you prefer.
