Got this one home finally after a weeks wait for the road tar to cool down a bit!

13 foot platform and 2-row cornhead.--- S-L-O-W trip home!! LOL!!! Don't run like my N-5 does on the road!! ----Had to park here at the house until I can catch another cooler day to make the other 7 miles to the farm! thanks; ac fleet

Brings back many memories of the Gleaner E we had at our farm. Our late father after deciding to rent our ground out proclaimed to brother and I " we should sell that combine now or we will be paying a scrap man to come cut it up in a few years"!!! It got sold for $500.00. It was the cleanest E I have ever seen and now its whereabouts are unknown. Great little combine you have to play with. Ryan

Congrats on getting a great little combine! A 13' E header is not that common in IL. Usually only see 10' headers. That looks like the one from the Earl Simpson Farm close out auction June 30th, Downs, IL??

It did indeed  come from Earl Simpson!!  I went to high school with Earl and have known the family all my life! --- The  D grader also came from him! thanks; ac fleet

About all you seen around was 2 row and 13' grain tables. Most had Love bars on the table. They worked well.

The wheat, soybean, & corn rotation in this area probably helped decide? Just guessing that Hart-Carter floating cutter bars were a new option in early 1970s. So in the 1960s, the 10' ridged platform seemed the choice if your farm ground wasn't flat.
Anybody on forum that worked at a dealership back then, want to weigh in with their knowledge - what year were floating cutter bars introduced?

AC Fleet,
I thought you were downsizing a year or two ago?  Just decided to ramp up again?

Good luck.  Just curious, did the combine have a dealer sticker on it?

Will have to look if there be a dealer sticker or not. I am down a bunch, still have the N-5 and the JD 4400 and JD 95 to get sold. also a 45' field cultivator plus probably more stuff. thanks; ac fleet
