I've been working around G's for what seems like forever and I saw a new one today. The Master Tool Carrier front arm on one of the 5 Master Tool Carriers I'm rebuilding is different than the others. The outside diameter on the odd one is 1¼" and the others are 1½". Any body know about this?

It is always interesting to me since with my father we sold the G for the life of the unit however, surprising new information is found on this site.
No I did not know of that difference in the tool carrier but knowing Allis Chalmers they were always improving the product.  Lots of improvements came out before a new model was developed.  Such as the helical - constant mesh - transmission appeared in the very late WD tractors and was standard in the WD-45.
I would imagine experience showed that there was some weakness in the tool carrier and Allis Chalmers increased the size for additional strength.  Interesting.
Thanks for sharing.
Good Luck!

Joe, the outside diameter is larger.

I support the development of hybrid automobiles and alternative fuels as I need DIESEL fuel for my ALLIS CHALMERS!

My parts book does not show any changes, or up dates, and it has an April 1961 date on the front of it.
