I'm wanting to install a buddy seat in my 8030 so my kids can ride along with me sometimes and can't seem to find any manufacturers that make one. I was hoping someone on here had done this and could help me find a company that builds one or give me some info on adapting one from another brand of tractor that won't be too much trouble to make it fit. Thanks for any help.

I think someone posted pictures a few years ago, that they used one made for a John Deere 7800. Shoup catalog has them for $300.00, Deere was twice that. Andy

Thanks Andy, I was actually looking at some of those seats earlier and hoped one might work. They're the closest thing I've found so far.

You'll want a seat belt for whoever rides there. I can tell you all a very sad story of an old Customer who had his young daughter in the cab of an 8000 series and she tripped the door latch and fell out and got ran over by her Dad.

I have one if the Shoup seats for a Deere in my 8760 and it’s nice but without measuring pretty sure it would be too wide. Please share what you end up doing I’m sure I’m going to have to cross that road soon.

My 3 year old boy rides on the left fender between the back window and the center pillar. I had been thinking of adding one by the left door but I am now thinking of taking an old metal frame chair and cutting it down to fit by the back window and having it padded and apolstered. That way I can get in and out without crawling over him and there’s plenty of room for his feet behind the seat. And he’s no where near the controls. He can also look back and see what I’m pulling and also see in front.
The problem I have with store bought is there’s no real support if they fall asleep. And definitely it will have a seat belt. I’ve heard too many stories like the Dr mentioned. I need to get it done before next tillage season. I’ll post pics when I get to it.

I added one to my 8050 got it from K&M it was for a JD. My wife rides some time along with three grand kids, twin 5 year old boys and 3 year old girl we all fit in there. That cab is amazing. I have some good pics of all of us in there just haven't figured out the posting part.

Sounds like a cabin not a cab.

Here are pictures that K&M sent me where a customer put on in an 8000 series. Looks like the same one in the link listed above.

Thanks for all the help guys, looks like I need to get one ordered for a 7000 series deere and put it in. I know my kids will enjoy it! Eventually though I might get demoted to riding on it and the kids driving!

Might get one ordered sooner than later I was told they were changing the design or maybe not making that one anymore. I really like the way mine fits the grand kids like it as well, they take turns while the others sit on the finder. That is also not a bad seat for kids, I had fhur make my cab kits with one inch foam its just a little nicer to sit on.

Does it limit you much getting in and out

Not when folded, a little when being used.
