Seems I either have a hose leak or a bad heater core in my 7010. Any surprises to look out for before I pop the top?

Might get ready to find a massive mouse nest. I just did about same except my AC drip lines had come loose. If so, a trash bag, vacuum, & air compressor nozzle come in handy, after you pop the top.

I support the development of hybrid automobiles and alternative fuels as I need DIESEL fuel for my ALLIS CHALMERS!

there will also be a lot of dust/dirt up there. while you have the top off, run a wire down thru the drain hoses for the ac condenser, they will usually be plugged with dirt. will hafta take the one way valves off the bottom of the hoses. (then leave them off).

Did it. Mama's gone and been gone. So clean out time. I already got a wren in my gas grill
making it a maturity ward.

Wink  Was it as easy to do as you hoped(roof removal) and did you find the issue?

Dead simple. Two man job to get it on the ground. Unfortunately it was the heater core leaking . But I did determine that the fan works and the ac switch is new. Check out the compressor clutch and if I get lucky there I may have A/C soonish.

Is it worth cutting some insulation board
to fill the voids in the roof?

I would consider something like dyno-mat on the roof top, maybe cab roof also, then look for some kind of insulation..
I think it would help quiet the cab and help with heat and air conditioning

I have searched e-bay and found all kinds,

All kinds, yes. Summit has 124 listings all sizes shapes and thicknesses. Plus I need an interior cab kit. May have to hold off a little.

I put new cab kit in my 7060, restuffed a lot foam in the dash area, new floormat, sure made it nice, cab is quiet, even with a straight pipe, and the AC works good,,
If I take the top off again, I will put something up there....

Mine came with a new floor mat not installed. I figure I'll knock out all I can ac,heat, radio and so on while I'm at it and be done. The rest of the tractors to nice not to do the cab also. Plus all the components all there just get them working.
