| How do you go about tightening up the shaft that your wheel is bolted to on the final drive on a 185? |

| Never done a 185, but the other AC tractors have shims on the end of the shaft. Take the center plug out of the final drive and take out the bolt that goes into the wheel shaft. Should be shims under the washer. Remove the appropriate amount and then re-install the bolt and cover. |

| That's what it looked like under the cap. I was changing the fluid in the pans and have some movement when I grab the wheel at 12:00 and push and pull. |

Agree with MACK.Unless someone has fiddled with it prior,it would have been correct from factory so looseness indicates bearing loosing material.Those are not that hard to work over.Once you remove cap with shims,you can drive axle out to inspect brgs.Some fit tighter than others.Bull gear will drop out bottom when axle is removed.It only fits one way because of hub. My advice is from dealing with a WD45 but they are the "same".

Probably still a bad bearing that will be out after a while. I've seen two 185 axles break from a heated bearing. (I'm assuming heat caused it) I repaired the one 185 myself while working at the Allis dealership. Have never seen any other Allis axle ever break but these two different 185s in my area did.
