I put 12 4' long LED tubes up in my shop best lights ever. I have 4' flor c nuts in my barn. They work great in the summer but don't have cold start ballasts so in the winter there slow to start if they start

Yes, I've had 2 installed, now down to one( redesigned kitchen eliminated one). BEST thing I had installed int eh upstairs bathroom ! Been 20+ years...took awhile to get used to how BRIGHT it is and when clouds go by ,it gets dark( no window).
Been thining of tossing one of them LED solar night light units in the tube, one day...

I like my rooms dark, more relaxing for me. I do see a lot more of them being installed on houses tho! and some on out buildings.

It's got a half ball on top of the roof a reflective tube down to a half ball in the room when the sun is up the light is refracted down into the roof. They bring natural light into windowless rooms.

I put one in the kitchen, north side of the house.  It really makes a big difference, we love it.  It even puts out light on nights with a bright moon.  I can't think of any reason why I wished I hadn't done it.  I have another one in the garage I was going to put in the hallway, just never got around to it.

'solar' just means 'something to do with the sunlight,or startlight or moonlight( which is really reflected sunlight...).

Mine were about $250 INSTALLED, which considering the 12/12 roof pitch , was a BARGAIN for me.....

Put 3 of them in around 1996 or so - one in windoless bathroom - wow it makes the room usable in the daytime without turning on the light .
One in basement stairwell - lights up area well and can see down there without turning on lights as withthat and basement windows can access garage entry (tuck-under)
Also put one in hallway by closet there - was always dark area - not now .
Was thinking of couple in shop but now put 6, 300W LED bulbs in there , lot of light at just 45 W each
