The wife told me that if I get rid of all the mowers/tractor that I have, (only have 4) that I could go buy a new one!! She hates them sitting behind the house.So I have been thinking about it! Been looking on the web on 2 of them. One green, the other orange. Neither are A-C. Looking for 20-30 hp, mower deck, loader, and maybe a back-hoe attachment as well. Does anyone have any thought on the way to go? Anyone have one, good and bad? Not buying as of yet, but might by the time fall comes around. AND yes, I know what Shameless' comment will be, buy the orange one! LOL John Deere, and Kubota. Thanks, Dave

| Either one will do the job, I would look at the dealer that is the closest or treats you the best. |

| I know how you feel. We finally broke down and bought a slightly used Kubota B2620 with loader and mower deck and wonder how we ever got along without it ! My wife uses it more than I do and that's a good thing. I hope the same for you! Read the reviews on the sub compacts closely . |

I purchased a new 26hp Mahindra 2 years ago. Loader, belly mower, backhoe, and 6 ft yard rake. Couldn’t be happier. Great warranty, does so much more than I thought it would. Opted for the hydro transmission instead of the shuttle shift since I would be mowing more than loader work. But I found out the hydro does fine with loader work as well. Attachments are made in the USA. I tested the other brands as well, Mahindra won almost every category including lift capacity. Not much plastic either. Other brands had plastic fenders and even hoods! Wanted a Massey initially but they dont make a 26 hp with a mid mount mower/mid pto. No comparison in my tests. Thanks Steve, I have 2-720’s with various attachments including a belly mower. But I can make really good time on the Mahindra and it sips fuel. Much quieter as well. The 720’s handle sickle bar work, brush hog and garden tiller duties. gee Dave your wife and mine must be related ! She's always telling me to 'get rid of the k........', sigh I treated myself to a Kubota BX23s on May 26th. First brand new thing with wheels since 1978. No mower deck, got a 15 year old MTD for that.I looked online for 2-3 months at options. Tried to buy a M-F version but dealer's sales guy was more interested in fixing a chain saw than selling a tractor ! Mahindra was 10K MORE than the Kubota ! I got a 6 yr warranty on the beastie from the dealership about 2 miles away. While I have less than 10 hrs on it, have to admit power steering,cruise,super EASY loader removal are NICE features. Digging holes is fun, moving mtns of ponypoop compost even more fun. I'd just like some free time to 'go play in the dirt'. Dang Jay, I’m sorry the Mahindra salesperson didn’t give you his best. Not sure what price guide he was looking at but the pricing is online. My dealer even beat that as I had prices on other brands with me. No doubt Kubota makes a good machine, as long as your happy that’s all that matters. Not sure how he was $10k higher....that’s drastic. Wow. Are you in Colorado? I think he must of been smoking something. Jay, get a tooth bar for your loader bucket if you need to dig some dirt, makes a huge difference. Rips roots right out also. Massey 1705 was my choice.With loader.Works great after 200 hours. Dealer is close and the best.Surprisingly the price was 4000 less than Mahindra and within 100 bucks of Kubota. I don't know how true this is but on another small tractor site the claim was that Kubota and Massey were mostly the same except the engine.

I was looking for a 26 hp tractor, 5 ft belly mower, backhoe, and loader. Massey didn’t offer the belly mower in that size tractor. Massey was the first one that I looked at. I am still confused over the price differences. Kubota was higher than the Mahindra that I ordered by $505. New Holland had plastic fenders and hood. Dealer is only 7 miles from me and a good friend. But I was turned off by the amount of plastic. The Mahindra has a CRD clean burn engine. NO DEF !!. Another huge reason for buying the Mahindra. The lifting capacity was also higher, lift capacity is 400 lbs more than its closest competitor. Not knocking other brands, just facts. I’m sure all are good tractors. I would love to build a new garage...been dreaming of a 40x80 for years. I have tractors and equipment in every nook and cranny including dads farm.
