I have a 1950 Wd and the throttle turns fine on the quadrant and turns the rod all the way down the side of the tractor but the governor doesn’t seem to be turning. If I go on the other side of the tractor I can turn the throttle up by manually moving the lever from carb to governor but it won’t work the throttle from the quadrant??? Please help? Thanks in advance

Sounds like a broken governor spring if you have described the problem accurately.

When you work the throttle by hand at the carburetor, can you feel resistance build as you speed the engine up?

Yes you can feel the resistance in rod between carb and governor. That’s the only way you can change throttle. Lever won’t do raise or lower rpms on the quadrant. When I first got it, it worked but you had to really jam throttle lever down the quadrant and after it sat this winter, now it won’t adjust at all

Sounds like the governor is working then. You may need to adjust the linkage going to the gov from your quadrant.

Could have shared pin in arm that hooks to gov spring. Remove 4 bolts holding gov cover on. Watch spring as some one moves throttle lever. MACK
