I just picked up a 73 plow with a gauge wheel. I need new moldboards for it. They are 16 inch bottoms and I can't find the numbers stamped in them. Can anyone help me out with figuring out what I need?

You need new molboards? If you can find them they are about $100 each. Cheaper to by a better plow. You'll have to spend some time looking through the parts manuals in the knowledgebase section to learn what you have.

I think 70 and 80 series plows we're 16". THe frames are adjustable so you widen or narrow them if you want to cut 14" or 16"

Most any AC plow bottom ever made can be bolted to the shanks of a 73 model plow frame. But that requires a complete plow bottom consisting of the frog, the moldboard, the landsides (though there are many more bottom numbers than landside numbers), and blade, share, or whatever you want to call the cutting edge and maybe the shin. Generally the shares fit at least a couple plow bottoms, and most of the time AC offered at least 6 or 8 shares for each plow bottom. Different widths, different bent down of the front for different sucks, and different materials (hardened cast iron, soft center steel, and hard center steel).

With a part number from share, moldboard, or frog you probably can identify the bottom and the appropriate moldboard part number from the plow bottoms book referenced over in the thread AC Plow Parts 101 over in the Knowledge Forum. It is possible that moldboard (and sometimes shins) could have been replaced from parts of other makers so the typical 6 digit AC part number won't be there, but those can be traced to the AC plow bottom number.

The AC 375 bottom is the most popular for parts from aftermarket plow parts makers in recent years.

If you can find them, the 387 bottoms will work.  You have to have the frog and all. There has to be some 9000 plows that have been converted to 387's or 2000 monoframe someplace. You can still get parts from Shoups for the 387's. I have a 80 series that I have 387's on and I always get comments on the fantastic plowing job that I do.
