Put a new alternator on last fall this spring it don't work again. Took in to a shop had it tested said it was good. Put it on still no out put. Called them they said bypass the from battery to r1 position on alt. and should put out still don't . Where do I go next. Thanks for the input.

The heavy 10 gauge wire on the alternator must be connected to the batteries thru wiring from the starter solenoid/battery cable connection. If there isn't 12 VOLTS at the alternator connection, it cannot work. Just above the starter solenoid connection there is a fuseable protection link that could be melted or lost connection.
