In 2013, Merrill Lynch and Age Wave (MLAW) conducted a study asking pre-retirees what they would "miss most about work when they retire." By an enormous margin, "a reliable income" was the most popular answer. Then the researchers followed up by asking a group of currently retired folks what they missed the most about work. | Actually I don't worry about any of the items listed!!! What I DO worry about is maintaining my health which is pretty good at this time!! We live in a retirement community with 2600 homes and have met a lot of people that are fairly wealthy. But, they have major health issues with gets in the way of enjoying their retirement!!! My advise is to retire as soon as you can as it doesn't cost as much as you might think. |

| Been retired almost 10 months, my biggest issue, BOREDOM, trying to not be inundated with stay busy projects that really do not need done. Went back to work part time driving a grain haul semi in Feb. |

I get to retire in 3-4 years at 70. Since dad died at 91 and mom at 100, I should have some years to enjoy... I will continue doing 'substitute' work for other priests who want to take time off, mostly only weekends. But I am the one who calls the shots on how much I want to do that...at this point in time I plan on doing some traveling untill I get bored of that... and the substitute work will also keep me from getting bored. In other works I will not 'miss' anything cause I can continue at my own pace. ------------- Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die |

Been retired for about 12yrs and can't find time to do it! But, every once in awhile I will pretend I have time and just do it for a day or whatever.  We al know what farming is like.

Too many people I know worked more years and retired later and were dead within a year or so, the Paul "Bear" Bryant syndrome. My wife says I can "retire" when the house is paid off and look for something easier on my body than the factory job I have now. Shooting for 55 years old when I can collect my pension. Not much money due to how early I am collecting but a part time job with it would cover most expenses. Between the back log of projects with gardening, old cars, tractors, small engines, etc... I don't think I would get bored very fast.

| Glad I retired at 62. Seventy six now. But it happens to all of us, when the health breaks time sucks. So I feel that retiring as soon as possible and start doing things to keep you busy is the best way. Golden years. Baloney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Trusting in the Good Lord to provide and He has never let me down. Retired from work and the National Guard at 60 and worked part time until 70, now just take care of the farm and do some volunteer work plus serve on the county board of tax assessors. Like Joe my biggest concern is staying healthy. ------------- Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God. |

Yes, keep all blood test ok every 6 months is number 1 priority. Now that I am retired I can't seem to get all the stuff done that I retired to do. Tom

WHEN DID I EVER HAVE THE TIME TO GO TO WORK!?!?!?! Boredom?? DMiller, come visit! I GUARANTEE you won't have time to be bored. I retired at age 53 and am now 69. Health Ins WAS at the top of my list until I got to 65. How my biggest worry is about the DAMN GOVERNMENT and WHY CAN'T teachers EDUCATE our children?!?! They can TEACH (indoctrinate) our kids, but they sure as hell don't EDUCATE ANYONE anymore. WHY worry?? There USUALLY isn't a darn thing you can do about it. Keep things simple and LIVE LIFE.
