Looking at getting some adjustments done and fixing things on the combines this year. One thing is the steering completely different on both combines.
On the R7 its easy to steer, the wheels will turn at idle setting still, but it is squirrelly in the field and is hard to keep it straight. Its even worse going down the road. The cylinder has a slight amount of dirt colection on the outside seal, is it time for a rebiuld?
On the R50 the wheels wont turn at all no matter how fast the engine is running even once the oil is warmed up. Seems like its got alot worse over the years. Then every once in a while harvesting the steering goes from being somewhat hard to steer to really easy and the steering collum heats up to where its really hot. Also gets a different noise when its steered, then it will go back to being harder to turn. Is the oil cooler not working or something in the obital motor? Both combines have RWA, the 50 is a gilcrest, the 7 is an allis. Any help is appreciated!

Per your description - steering cylinder piston seal shot on the R on the R50 depending on sn I would first check the steering priority pn 71368977 there are two types - probably trash and a stuck spool limiting the supply to the orbit motor at times. The steering valve will run hot on R 50's -clean out the hyd cooler on the engine and check the air pressure in the cooling box on the engine - if the fan blade tips are eroded the cooling will be adversely effected...

Have saw hoses come apart on inside restricting flow of oil.
Check toe in on rear wheels. Can make a lot of difference. MACK

Thanks for the info.One wheel is pointed in a little, the other one is straight. Would i make the adjustment on the cylinder?
Also the fan on the 50 is worn so i know its cant be cooling as good as it should.
