170 and 175 are the same. 180, 185, 190 and 200 are the same SIZE but not necessarily the same design - early 190 bar grille or 200 pleated mesh grille. I have a good one that came off a 170 diesel that I could sell. Distance could be an issue though seeing you are in Montana. I don't know of a harder part to replace for the 100 series than the grill. I have been trying to replace the one for my 185 since 2013. I have found a couple which were barely above junk status, but I have yet to get my hands on a good one. I hope you have better luck. ------------- D17 Series III,D17 Series IV, 185 |

Someone like Luke needs to start making the grills. I work in a tool and die shop I had talked to the foreman about making grills . I know we could but the dies would be very high priced. If we had a good vender we could build them. We have 2- 100 ton presses it could be done . Also we would need some good grills to make a pattern ! Right now its slow it would be a good time ! ------------- turbocharged |

Luke, I don't have a 170, but they sort of look like the one on my 160. Not an easy part. What do you think the selling price would be for a 170 grill. Formed steel, primer finish. Assume you got 15 orders. I am just curious, being in aerospace manufacturing. And it concerns me that nobody makes grills or gas tanks for our Allis tractors. |

| According to PARTS BOOK,there are only 2 matching part #'s for the grill, 180 and "some" 190's (different grill pattern that has already been mentioned). A 175, 200,210 and 220 have their own # with the 220 requiring 2 parts to make the entire "shell" which also has extra lower wings along the bottom heading back towards the engine . A 170 has the same # as a 175 |

Let’s say each half of the die costs $50000. Just a rough guess, that would be $100000 just in the dies alone not including set up fees and materials. I like the idea a lot but i sell new parts everyday and most people appreciate it but some can’t believe the price. At least you were able to provide someone with a proper grill. I had a super nice grill on mine but it was pulled off by some vines when I was clearing brush with a rotary cutter. What was left could not be repaired. ------------- D17 Series III,D17 Series IV, 185 |

I was using a couple of zip ties, but then it came to be a bit of a hassle when I checked the air cleaner, so I stopped using them. I now just drill a small hole in the grill at the top and use a self threading screw to hold it. Doesn't really hurt anything and it stays just fine. I also adjust the clamps on each side and make them SNAP some and have had no problems at all and I use mine to brush hog all the time. Casey Creek...I guess what I was trying to point out to you, was that you just missed a real good grill for your tractor...I found out that the grills are NOT CHEAP! I had to purchase a total of 7 grills over a four year period and they ranged from 400.00 to 550.00! That's a lot of dough, just for a grill! LOL!

I was lucky and was able to repair my grill for my 190xt. I thought it had too much rust at the bottom to be repaired. A friend of mine was able to safe it by cutting out the bad metal and weilding in new metal. It turned out very well. I searched for a grill for 2 months before giving up. Found 1 for $600! I passed as it needed some metal work as well. I removed the latches and filled the holes. Wielded a 10” strip down both sides on the inside of the grill sides. Drilled 2 holes on each side of the side panel wings and tapped the strip to accept 1/4x20 bolts. Nice smooth look and no more chances of it falling off and getting run over.
