After two days of struggling with the PTO oil seal on my WD, I finally won.  It's a good feeling.  I had to take the PTO cover(bearing cage?) off to get it out.  One of the paper shims paper shims tore when i was taking it off.

Are the paper shims also used as an oil seal or are they just used to maintain proper clearance?  Can I reuse it?  The one that tore was up against the PTO gearbox.  Are the paper shims still available or do I have to cut them and what material would I use?  I'm pretty green when it comes to this stuff.  Thank you- Matt

I would get new gaskets they are available from DJS Tractor Parts. You might need two or three for correct gear spacing.

Those shim/gaskets are the same that any standard 6 bolt truck PTO uses. They are available in thick and thin ones, use as needed to get the proper gear backlash.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

I've gotten them from Agco, price was reasonable.
