Still working on the RC rearend.

Replacing the seal between the differential and the brakes.  Old seal had a tin "carrier" that held the seal.  The new seal has a solid steel "carrier" that is slightly larger than the hole it needs to go into.  Old part number 70207708 was changed to 72511216 "Oil seal assembly".

My question is what suggestions now?  I'm tempted to straighten out the old tin "carrier" and reuse it with the new seal-not sure what else to do.

Thanks

Just check the old seal versus the new.  The OD is larger for the new seal as well.  The inside diameter looks ok.  Agco parts made in Tiawan.

I just replaced mine and got seals from napa  skf  19229   they fit the stamped seal retainer very well, the seal between the drum and pinon bearing is  skf 19407 and will require some machineing to fit the retainer. I had about .007 removed to make it fit.  Gary
