New to the forum, old to tractors. First off, want to say thanks for the sharing of such an incredible wealth of wisdom. For the past two weeks, I read every doggone topic, saving the "no one told me that before" stuff the hard drive.

Well, what brings me here, is an architect friend of mine thought he was killing two birds with one stone - buying a basket case WD from the family of an old buddy who passed on.
Thought it'd be a good project for him & grandson. Parts were missing - so stumbled on another WD. Turns out, the "parts" tractor is more sound than the one that just "needs a few things" - so he wants to keep them both!

We are missing the distributor & drive adaptor for the first one - old but usable will do just fine - a link to a pic of what is needed below. Also, would much, much rather deal with someone from this site - I've read all the posts, it's easy to figure out who can be depended on!

THIS IS WHAT IS NEEDED - DIST & DRIVE ADAPTOR

Again, thanks to everyone for their generosity in sharing knowledge and experiences!

That is a magneto to distributor conversion in your picture. A magneto can be put in it's place. Someone on here will have what you're looking for.

Thanks for the replies, Brian, Glockhead and Floyd.

Yup, know its a dist with adaptor - need both pieces, why I posted pic. For ow, will avoid a mag - I've already converted the tractor to 12V & dist just makes it simpler.

If you really want a distributor you have the option of getting the complete (one piece) unit, governor and all off another WD, WD45, or D17. However there is no good reason to not use a magneto with a 12V converted tractor. Unless you are already wired up for the distributor, the mag is actually the simplest. BTW welcome aboard!! Kip

why are you not going to use the distributor and adapter . If you want to sell it I would be interested in purchasing both pieces that were pictured.

Just a quick followup:

Today (July 18th) we headed over to Jesse's place and bought the distributor & drive housing. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

We also bought a snap-coupler...

... and a virtually new seat perch with shock/spring assembly - NO SLOP AT ALL

... and an incredibly clean 11x28 inch spinout rim (tire included at no extra charge)

On top of all this, some of the best tasting tomatoes I've ever sunk my teeth into.

Plus, the grand kid got to walk with me from Michigan to Indiana (Jesses lives in a strange neck of the woods).

Thanks again Jesse, and thanks to everyone elee who replied as well!

Hey it was my pleasure. I like meeting new Allis people and helping people out when I can. I believe those tomatoes are called basketbees. I will have to double check but they are one of my favorites as well.

"I believe those tomatoes are called basketbees. I will have to double check but they are one of my favorites as well."

Well, they must be an old line of tomatoes to ripen to that "Allis Chalmers Orange" (wink-wink)!
