I've got an L2 that decided to throw a rod. What is the best way to pull the engine? Do you pull the whole assembly with the radiator etc, or take the fan off and the output shaft out and lift the motor out of the cradle? I do not have an overhead hoist, but do have access to a loader and forklift. Thanks in advance. Im not looking forward to the job and wanted to make it as safe and simple as possible

Remove the fan from the water pump and lift the engine alone leaving the frame behind. "L-2" is vague....WHAT MODEL YEAR ??

Actually if one goes well I have 2 possibilities. Both were good corn special combines, both hydros, but both have Windows in the block now. One is a 77 or 78 (screen wire bin) with the Orange motor and the other is a late model with the tan cab and black motor. I have parts combines from similar years that both have good motors, just trying to figure out what to do. Thanks for the help.

I think it was on the black motor. It was 1 or 2 on the Orange one.
