I disaasembled the RH brake on my D-17 yesterday.
The good news, the pin came out easily by simply clamping it with the "Vice-Grips" and
twisting it back and forth as I pulled on it.
Maybe the D-17 pins are less troublesome than the WDs and WD-45s?
As is typical, there was a large mouse nest in there.
I'm glad I discovered this now rather than later when it might have caught on fire like an experience I had a few years ago
 with my WD-45. |

| I have had bumble bees nest in the RH brake housing on a 185. I found out the hard way. Bees got me three time before I figured out the bees werent every where, they were just every where I went on the tractor. |

I can't WAIT to get into the brakes on my WD45, G and CA - all need attention! I'm suspecting that there are some fairly spectacular nests in some of those brake housings! ------------- WC, CA, D14, WD45 |

I probably pulled that much out of the torque tube on my D14 when I changed the ring gear. There were a couple young ones still hanging around when I did that. Sure are cute little fellars. ------------- D14, D17, 5020, 612H, CASE 446 |

A couple of years ago when I got out my WD-45 for the first time in the spring I could not steer it. Turns out the prior owner had removed the hand crank shaft from the pedestal and mice had built a very large "condominium" in there. It took me a few hours to fish all of that stuff out thru the crank hole.
Needless to say, I installed corks in those holes after that incident.
