Wren entrance.  When Dad left the WD45 parked for years by the garden, a wren nested in the tool box every year.  Now maybe that wasn't the original intended purpose but Genny Wren would beg to differ.

The toolbox that came with my WC was so rotten, the only good part was the hole!

How else are the mice gonna get in?   I always appreciated it for the too long gas tank dipstick, it's gotta go somewhere.

for the handle which slipped in the spinout adjuster wrench...too long to lay in tool box

Some of the hand cranks were stored on brackets on the fender walls.  Would probably also fit in the tool box with a hole in the box end like shown.

My first impression was it would make a good novelty bird house.  Just put Allis Chalmers on the side of it.

I used it to throw the cigarette, that I wasn't smoking at that age, into to hide it from the ole man.
I don't know if it worked or not, but he never said anything.
But yeah, for the grease gun nozzzle.

More wasp nests then anywhere else on the tractor, with the possible exception of under the gauge panel.  A piece of duct tape fixed it, seems wasps need to get to water and food occasionally...

Steve has it correct as the grease gun was the small type and fits in just fine, where as the handle sticks out as its longer than the box crank fits on brackets on fender, and d series didnt come with crank,   only other thing was quadrant stop in toolbox and mabe sparkpluc socket and they were small

Dad used it to stick the end of the handle of the Craftsman adjustable wrench that was a little too long for the tool box.The wrench was used mostly to beat the rocks out of the
rock catcher on the Roto Baler. It gets my nomination as World's Toughest Wrench(LOL)
