This year our corn isn't drying down very well, still at 22.6 moisture. I was hoping to use both combines but the "F" apparently doesn't like higher moisture corn. It doesn't always completely shell the cob and some of the kernels left on the ear are ground up on the ends. Any tips to help with this. Ive tried lowering the cylinder till it breaks the cobs but even then it doesn't completely shell them. Dry corn 19 percent it works great.

That is what filler bars on the cylinder are for......wet corn. How many concaves are installed  ??

I'd have to check but I believe 4. I thought it had filler bars but guess I'll have to check again. Haven't looked at it for 2 years. This combine doesn't see much use.

Can you speed up the cylinder a little?

I gave that a try tonight and it worked. I figured it would grind it up more but it's shelling really nice now.

Great!  22% is pretty normal here in the tundra, the corn isn't as brittle and susceptible to grinding and yet you need a little more oomph put into it to get it off the cob....I've never operated an F, but speed and cyl clearance work together in all makes and models pretty much the same way.  Glad you got going.
