Before I ask I know this is trivial.
Cannot find a 24 volt bulb for my 16.
Can someone steer me to s source for this minor annoyance??
Thank you

lol. I used to be the same way, every little thing would get on my nerves. But I came to learn that my pockets weren't deep enough to have everything to my liking on a 58 year old machine that is still used and being the Xth owner. I just quit at dark. haha

There can be different reasons for quitting at dark. On another blog is a night photo from a game camera in Namibia of a lion eating a zebra as to why they don't work at night

You could put a 12 volt bulb in your holder and another 12 volt bulb under the dash, wired in SERIES.
What model is this used on? Is there a number on the bulb??

Thank you Joe. I don't have the bulb unfortunately. I found. NAPA dealer close to me that said he has a bulb. $6.00 per bulb. A 12v is 1.00. Trying to visualize your suggestion on 2 bulbs in line.

At $6 a bulb you're better off with it vs 2 low price bulbs and another holder to hook up. I assumed there were NO bulbs available. Sounds like problem solved.

Its all about the trivial for me I guess.
Been bugging me to find a 24v light bulb for the dash light on my HD16. Found the bulb at a Napa parts dealer.
I was also looking for the glass lens that slips in the light cover. Found the light cover after digging, crazy as the light holder was made by the John W Dobbs company a division of Stewart Warner. I ordered a glass bottle that fits exactly into the holder. SUCCESS. I know its nothing but a dash light but nice to find replacements for this old stuff.

I was getting to it Cal hahahah.
Speciality Bottle Co. item #PXC2B. Description. 2oz PET Plastic bottle. 1.5" diameter x 3.25" tall.
Pet is a very hard clear plastic material and clear not a cloudy plastic bottle like a milk jug. The reason I chose this was i could easily cut the hight of the bottle to fit the dash light fitting.
Also,, for battery cable covering, I am using 7/8" "Discharge Hose". Comes in 10 foot length and very flexible. My #00 welding cable fits nicely in side and hose is meant for washing machine discharge hose. Rubber reinforced. 10' rolls sold at Tractor Supply for $13.00 per role. I need 2 rolls to do all the batter cable. Easy to push line through.

Stand Back Cal,,,, here is the part that I was looking for a lens to use.
The bottles I ordered should snug inside this to protect the bulb.

Needs paint of course.

Just an idea but how about running a separate line from one 12 volt battery to a switch and use 12 volt bulbs?

Check to make sure that hose will withstand grease and petroleum conditions... seen some rubber melt.

Good suggestion JC. The hose is rated for 200 degrees. I was going to use 3/4 rubber garden hose but I found this and at 7/8" was easy to move cable through. My first thought was using hydraulic hose covers like on my Skid steer but couldn't find them.
I will watch close for how they hold up.

Now that i know Napa stocks them normally, and are only 20 mins away, I know I can get replacements. Still,, $5.75 for one bulb is still pricey.

Seems LED bulbs also have a larger voltage range - might try that also .

DOHHHHH! What I would love would be the glass lens for it. I substituted a PET Plastic bottle that fits in side the housing very well but would love the original glass one.
Thank you for the heads up on the bulbs.
