In a way, I'm glad I live so far away, otherwise, I would be all over that one, even though I have more than enough (3) as it is!

Okay, heres why I don't have any luck buying from craigslist. Pictures can be deceiving and also owner description. I live just a short distance from tractor and I called on it early in the week and owner told me that sat would be the first day that anyone could view tractor because of his work schedule. So I tried him early this a.m. and was told someone was there now looking at it and would let me know. He called back shortly and said that guy tried to talk him down too much so I went to look at it. Deep gouges in both rear tires, steering wheel had about 1/2 turn of play, gas cap filler had been cut out and a different style filler and gas cap pop riveted to tank, inside of gas tank was full of rust and what liquid I could see in bottom looked to be more like mud, radiator cap was missing and could see no sign of coolant, oil dipstick only had oil on bottom 1/4 inch and it was very watery, throttle and govenor linkage had been disconnected from carb. and carb. throttle was froze, carb. was completely rusted to the point the screws would not come out, hydraulic dipstick was dry, both rear fenders creased, and front nose sheet metal rusted thru. I hate to see it go to scrap but still didn't want to give him his bottom dollar of $800.

Wow. Hate to hear about someone mistreating a tractor that much. Sounds like a money pit and lots of work to bring it back to life.

Man do I agree with you. Ran fine when last parked doesn't mean squawt 99% of the time. Beside sitting for yrs can be more harmful then if it broke a couple of months ago and they decided to sell it. Most of the time its a used up worn out piece of crap the seller thinks is a big huge gold nugget they have for sale.
