Hello Just wanted to double check what weight/type of fluid I should be putting in the trans of my G, I would assume regular old 85/90 gear oil, but I wanted to see if there are any advantages to going heavier etc? It is a G with the hydraulics..
Thanks!
Jonathan

If you have hydraulics, you want a 20W non foaming oil such as the hytran fluid at your local farm store.

Thanks! Topped it up and figured out that the belt pulley has to be on for the hydraulics to work.. Duh... Just like an 8N....
So the tool bar now goes up and down, though I have a feeling that I'll be replacing the seals in the cylinder soon...
Now I just have widen out the front end and figure out exactly how the plow goes on and I'll be in business!

Jonathon, I can send you a link to directions for attaching the single bottom plow - let me know.

Thanks, i got her hooked up and did some terrible plowing... soils too heavy/hard, tractor's too light...

Anyone want a plow setup for a G??? It's just missing a coulter wheel and the actual part that bolts to the front axle (I borrowed them from a neighbor)

I need to get another cultivator setup if anyone has one to sell/swap for a plow...
Thanks

IHP, I'm guessing that the G (10hp and not much weight) might be challenged in the plowing dept! Guess you'll have to add a heavier tractor for plowing - I recommend the CA with its 2-14 SC plow. As I mentioned in the pm I sent you, I'm looking for some of the front toolbar parts for my G.

Yeah we have other bigger tractors and plows, I was just hoping that it would work well for the smaller garden plots... But I think where the G's really shine is in the cultivating department...
It definately had plenty of power for pushing the plow, just our soils are pretty heavy and hard for such a light tractor....
