After some discussion of the hydraulic pump performance on a very late 190XT and model 200 tractor, it got me to thinking. With the elimination of the triple gear pump style like the old XT's had to the dual pump with priority valve for steering/P.D. clutch, I can see about a 4 HP gain in PTO HP. The reason is, there is no longer a steering/clutch pump moving 8 GPM all the time. The Engineers chose to go with a priority flow pump to achieve good steering at the expense of low flow to the lift system at slow engine speeds. This could/would result in less engine HP being used to power the hydraulic pump and leaves more HP at the PTO, hence a possible 98 PTO HP instead of 93.64.

My take on this is, the 93.64hp rating was when they first came out with the XT. Those early pumps (31AF, 49AF) were set to 63-65cc @ rated speed. The latest non advance pump (52AF) was set for 65-67cc @ rated, so would that have made about 95hp (2%). The latest XT pump (9GR) had timing advance, and was also set for 70-72cc, which should make at least 103hp (10%). This is the same setting the 200 used also. So if we look at the 7000, which was rated at 106hp, but it's pump was set for 65-68cc @ rated speed, of 2200. The 7010 and 8010 get 67-71cc @ 2300 rated rpm, which are still rated at 106hp. So in my simple mind, any later XT/200 should deliver at least 100hp, if not closer to 110hp. Interseting thread! Now that hydraulic pump difference could be why they had to change fuel settings.

The first 190XT I bought was a western no pt and wide swing drawbar 1970 mod. on the dyno it put out 125 hp pump seals still intacked I think it had 1500 hours but this was in 1976.
