Picked up a CA today and noticed a few things. There are no generator bracket holes in the block. It was mounted to flat stock with weld nut and the flat stock had a right angle on the front that picked up a bolt on the front of the block. Also the governor housing has no lube fitting and tube going to it. I don't know B's or C's so could this be one of those? Bracket doesn't look cobbed and lack of lube point doesn't look altered.

it could be an early B motor. Look at the serial number on the left side of the bell housing flange and see if it is a BE instead of a CE motor. no generator mount or gov lube tube on the 1938-39 years

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

It's either an early BE block or possibly an RC block. The RC is already 125 cid like a CA, and if it's a BE block it also has likely been updated to later 125 cid specs. Kip

If there is no number on the flange where you usually see the CE number, look on the boss on the rear of the block, just above the curve. Early B engine numbers stamped there.

OOOPS, green is not good inside an orange tractor !  could be a bog problem, or could be a freeze plug under the rocker arm. take off the valve cover and look.

I wouldn't mind having a CA but I've got to see some "green" before I can ever get one.  LOL

I bought my first Allis B about four years ago, and haven't had any 'green' since...
