I have very sloppy steering, actually scary while driving too fast.
Since I removed this, I do notice some slop in front pedistal, I will get into that next.
Can this gear be fixed - anyone know someone that does it I can sent it out to.
It appears that the worm gear looks good, may be hardened, wonder if small gear could be welded up and filed.

Any input would help - Thanks in Advance...

I welded mine and shaped with an angle grinder. yours don't look that bad in the pictures. did you try adjusting the engagement. there is one e3ccentric stud and two eccentric nuts on the plate side that set the gear engagement.

First, you have a "Gemmer" steering box. Anything applying to the "Ross" steering will not be applicable. The shop manual will tell you the proper adjustment procedure after you have rebuilt or found the needed parts.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Anyone ever just replace the sector gear (3 teeth gear)with a good used one and used the old worm gear and steering shaft.
